India may strike terrorist bases in Pakistan

ananova.com

India is considering military attacks on terrorist training
bases in Pakistan, according to reports.

It comes after a Pakistan-based militant group fighting for
the independence of India's Jammu-Kashmir state admitted
carrying out a car bomb attack on the Kashmir State
Parliament.

Forty people were killed and several others were injured.

Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the assault,
saying a Pakistani citizen had carried out the bombing.

The Indian minister of state for home affairs I D Swami told
SAB TV that "It's quite possible that we might have to
exercise a military option against terrorist camps in
Pakistan."

He stressed such action would be ordered by Prime
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee only after consultation with
other political parties.

Farooq Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu-Kashmir, has
urged the Indian government "to attack Pakistan". "If we
show restraint the world will laugh at us," he said in a tearful
tribute to those who died in the car bomb attack.
