There are two sides to the equation as concerns the Israeli-Palestinian question and I see clear merit in the following:

1. there is no possible excuse or justification for the continuing targeting and murder of innocent noncombatant civilians by terrorists, which is a moral outrage to all civilization, nor is there any excuse for the incitement to murder taught in Palestinian schools and aired through the Palestinian press;

2. Israeli behavior on the West Bank and Gaza is arrogant, inflammatory and morally bankrupt - the settlements are a disgrace and a clear provocation, the siphoning off of water supplies and routes of commerce and travel are equally so.

I fear a peace cannot be negotiated between these two sides. It's time for the rest of the world to impose a peace on these by decree. The first step is to declare Jerusalem an open city occupied by the United Nations authorities. If Israel and Palestine don't like it then the UN sanctions them both, massively, and isolates them. Enough is enough.
