<Who died and left the judgement to history? >

We all do. History is written by the "winners". I'm am quite outspoken about the "history" of California Native-Americans vis-a-vis the "history" of the California Missions. These institutions are subsidized by the State of California and they are promulgating an inaccurate, though, pro-Catholic church view of what really happened here.

Is that fair? No. Oh well. But that's the way life works. We judge Nazi's even though most of us weren't even born when they were vanquished. We judge Napolean, Julius Caesar. We judge the American Revolution as good even though Canada seems to be doing fine and didn't need that level of bloodshed to become independent. Our acts will be judged by the winners and that will become the "truth".
