Iso,

I to am looking for high dividend stocks. I am looking carefully at the energy sector
and will buy OXY at the bottom. It is paying somewhere above 4% and was close
to 5% last week when the share price dropped to 21. I haven't yet bought because,
IMHO we will sell off again. Will pick some up at the end of the shoulder season.
Any other high dividend shares?

What are the specifics of the bond you mentioned? What are the call provisions, date
and price? Where is the information available for bonds, online?

Also, I am interested in going into junk bond funds at some point. I think that this quarter may
be bad for the junk bonds as I expect many companies with issued junk bonds to warn again on
earnings. Perhaps when the confessional season is over, it may be a good time to jump into the
high yield funds. My retirement account can only buy funds and besides, the relative safety of
diversification of a junk bond fund leads to smaller risk of bankruptcy.
