NAMPA, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 1997--

Micron(TM) Millennia(R) Xru with Fusion 3D(TM) harnesses latest Intel(R) processor with
built-in DVD capability for the extreme visual and audio adventure

Micron Electronics, Inc., (MUEI:NASDAQ) offers its customers today the latest wave of
CD-ROM technology via its Micron Millennia Xru with Fusion 3D and Digital Versatile Disc
(DVD) solution. Micron has bundled built-in DVD-ROM standard with the Intel(R) Pentium(R)
II Processor and the E4 CoolDVD PCI decoder card, opening the door to a new audio and
visual experience for customers who demand the cutting edge.

The future of home entertainment rests in higher image quality and greater storage capacity found
in DVD over traditional media such as video tape, CD-ROM, floppy discs and laser discs. DVD,
for example, utilizes new technology to handle 4.7GB of storage capability (a full-length movie)
whereas the storage capacity of a conventional CD generally yields 615MB of storage
(70-minutes of audio).

"The Millennia line is synonymous with cutting edge, and the Xru with the DVD-ROM is right on
track with this first-to-market technology and the latest brand-name components," said Brian
Klene, Micron Electronics Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Once again
Micron's direct channel model demonstrates its ability to deliver the latest technology first to our
customers, giving them instant access to premium, high-performance, quality PCs."

The Millennia Xru is the latest addition to Micron's award- winning product line of PCs. This
machine has launched Micron into the gaming world channels with new technologies such as
DVD-ROM, Monster 3D graphics card with 4MB memory, a 56Kbps fax/modem, the AWE 64
sound card and Cambridge Soundworks/Microworks speaker and subwoofer system for an
even richer, more interactive audio and visual experience.

Among the first desktops on the market immediately available with DVD, the Millennia Xru ships
standard with the 266MHz Intel Pentium II processor with MMX(TM) technology and 32MB of
EDO DRAM, upgradeable to 128MB. Starting at $4,199, the Millennia Xru with Fusion 3D and
