hotels -- I bought a lot of HPT on the dip.

They way I read it, they get 97% of their money from the hotel operators on long term leases and are not overly linked to occupancy rates. Of course if marriot goes bust, HPT is busted too. I think HPTs yield is quite fine for the risk involved.

I think the less risky REIT sectors are apartments and those REITs which specialize in neighborhood grocery anchored commercial properties -- like REG. I'm stuffing my pockets with them.

My top REIT holdings are HPT, UHT, REG, AML, MAA, SMT.
