Do you have a problem with the fact that your bank loans out the money that you deposit there? Did your bank ask your permission to use your money as collateral for other people's loans?

If your brokerage house paid you 2% or some other number, like your bank does for your savings account, would you be ok with short selling? (not talking about illegal short selling)
