Am I the only one who noticed the absurdity (IMO) of GM's statement that recovery will be "gradual but profound." What does that mean?

Hmm, I assume it means Moore does not expect to see Naz 5000 in the next year or so; that he thinks we will hover in those lower depths, gasping for bits of breath, longer than we would like--say years rather than months; but that when the recovery comes, it will be a strong one. I assume the word "profound" refers to fundamentals rather than (perhaps in addition to) stock prices.

But, then, I'm simply pitching my own views as if they were Geoff Moore's. I don't like the length of time argument but I can't find any strong arguments against it. But I'm still convinced the Internet is THE discontinuous innovation. The problem is to pick the right companies, the ones that will come out of this underwater swim as market dominant. (Having trouble keeping the metaphor going). Boring view, but it's mine.
