Air Canada says will reinforce cockpit doors
MONTREAL, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Air Canada (Toronto:AC.TO - news) said on Thursday it was ready to install security devices to reinforce cockpit doors and have sky marshals aboard flights to Washington, D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National Airport.

In the aftermath of the U.S attacks three weeks ago, U.S. transport authorities require airlines to have reinforced cockpit doors, dedicated crews and sky marshals on flights to the Washington airport, which reopened on Thursday to limited flights.

Air Canada and other foreign airlines have not yet been allowed to resume flights to the airport.

``We can't give out details of what these security devices are. We do not talk about them,'' an Air Canada spokeswoman told Reuters.

Debt-laden Air Canada, the country's main airline, has announced some 5,000 layoffs in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, which have put the global aviation industry in crisis.
