We must be careful, or this will become the Alan and Terry thread. The government does not pay the airlines anything when it snows. My point was that there are all kinds of things that affect the course of business.
Terrorist Attacks is not a thing that happens all the time (thank God), but neither does a hurricane, an earthquake, or some mechanical problems with equipment.
None of these is a reason to bail out a particular industry. If we are going to bail out the airlines, than we should also bail out all the people that are laid off because of the slow down that is caused. What about all the points of travel locations that will suffer. Fewer people will go to Florida, Nevada, the Carribean, and other tourist locations.
Should we not give help to all of those people that are affected by the slow down in air travel? How far down the path do we go?
Yes, crude is falling because of this, but fewer people are also traveling less in cars. What about the bus stoppage because of the driver that was killed. Are we going to give them help, and if not----WHY NOT?
We are going to give the Afghan refugees aid, why not everyone in this country that has to sacrifice? Yes, we can afford to help a little, but can we afford to help a LOT? How much in taxes are you ready to provide?
It will not only be taxes, but higher prices on everything as the money supplies increase to pay for everything.
