Christopher & Banks post 5 percent same-store sales gain
EDIT: I used to own this when it was Braun's Fashions...jimS

Christopher & Banks Corp. said Thursday that sales at stores
open at least a year increased 5 percent for the four-week
period ended Sept. 29. Year-to-date, same-store sales were up
8 percent.

The Plymouth-based retailer, formerly known as Braun's
Fashions Corp., said total sales for the four-week period ended
Sept. 29 were $20.7 million, a 35 percent increase from a year
ago. The company had 343 stores as of Sept. 29, compared with
262 stores as of Sept. 23, 2000.

In a prepared statement, Chairman and CEO Bill Prange noted
that while mall traffic declined significantly for a brief time
after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the company's business
"rebounded to planned levels" after Sept. 14.

The retailer still expects same-store sales increases in the
mid-single-digit range for the rest of the year, he said.

Christopher & Banks shares closed Thursday at $33.59, down
$1.49.
