Daniel:

A month before a company annnounces its earnings, the SEC requires a company to go into its "quiet period" where it can not make any forward looking statements. Accordingly, if a company is going to pre-announce, they generally have to do it before their quiet period begins, unless there's some extra-ordinary event. Sometimes a quarter gets to be so bad that a Company has to pre-announce twice, just like Seagate did a few weeks ago. There have been rumours that business was so bad in the China VCD market that I was worried that CUBE might have to pre-announce a second time. Since CUBE did not make any such secondary warning and we are already into the quiet period, that might indicate that management is comfortable with the numbers they announced last month.

Best Regards,
Grant
