I have been to the Oklahoma bombing site and that memorial does not work. It appears as much a victory memorial to McVeigh as anything. There were plenty of lone guys just staring, they could have been vagrants they could have been the next bomber they could have been the sons of a victim, the point is you just couldn't tell. The little benches gave one the impression of sitting on gravestones. NYC would be well served by having something as vibrant as the trade center towers, but different as a sign of growth.
