The problem is that Microsoft is pulling the plug on CIFS compatibility in Exchange. The reason, Microsoft says, is that storing Exchange data over a network creates a bottleneck, slowing the entire system. The move seriously hampers legitimate NAS (network-attached storage) companies, such as Network Appliance, that depend on CIFS for the Windows-to-high-speed-NAS connection. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it not a big problem? I wimped out and sold yesterday at 9.10 and have mixed feelings about it, particularly seeing NTAP brush up against 10. <g>
