I agree, the tone in US-Israeli exchanges is quite troubling. I heard some political commentary suggesting that it is deliberate, with the intent of providing some cover for Arab countries that want to help us out. But if so, the risk seems to be that it might also embolden some of these countries to step it up against Israel. Regardless, it seems very, very serious.

And isn't this the ultimate aim of Bin Laden, to get things more stirred up in that region?
