I disagree. The gold would still be traded outside the US and foreign markets would simply get bigger. As for exchanging your gold currencies for local currencies, there would be no problem through exchnage brokers, debit cards and the likes.

But I agree, we are speculating. I am convinced that the US would not ban gold. It would be showing immense weakness against the new giant of the global economy. Remember that the US economy is now only 25% of global eco and will shrink big time in the next 10 years. WIthin 25 years, China will be the new super power. Russia will be reborned. India will make further progress... etc

The world is changing.
