The logic re: Czechoslovakia goes thus:

Hitler wanted Czechoslovakia to give Germany the Sudetenland. (Lots of ethnic Germans lived in the Sudetenland.)
He threatened to precipitate World War II if Czechoslovakia did not give Germany the Sudetenland.
England was acting as mediator.
Hitler persuaded Neville Chamberlain that he would not start World War II if only Czechoslovakia gave Germany the Sudetenland.
The British pressured Czechoslovakia to concede.
This was the basis of the famous (infamous) Chamberlain speech that they had thereby achieved "peace in their time."
Hitler then proceeded to start WWII anyway.

If there is anyone who doesn't think that Hitler would have started WWII anyway, I have a bridge to sell you.

Appeasement did not start WWII, although I suppose it made Hitler bolder. But the Germans had secretly been preparing for WWII since the 1920's. WWII was inevitable. The German generals wanted to wait until Germany was more ready, maybe 1940-1942, but Hitler was impatient, which is why it started in 1939.

I guess what Sharon is saying is that he thinks that war with the Arab world (WWIII) is inevitable, whether it comes today or next year or three years down the road.
