I will get to that article later, E. I only have about 5 minutes here, and must rush off.

I think it is appropriate and natural that people think about their environment and make assessments on a continuous basis. Clothing, race, etc. may all be indications of a safety risk. Until I read the article I will leave it at that. I don't know why taking stock of people and situations should require any special labelling such as "profiling", but I will have a look at it later.
