IMO, the recent (4 weeks) move in MFL is a PRIMARILY a reaction to the recent increase of POS over the past month. Compare the 6 mo chart of MFL to BAY (they are very similar) :

stockhouse.com

BUT, there's something else going on: MFL has outperformed BAY over the past few days. I.e., BAY has leveled off with POS while MFL has continued to rise.

Why has MFL continued to rise? Two reasons I can think of:

1) Retail and/or institutional investors are finally realizing how undervalued MFL is.
2) Someone got wind of a deal in the works (JV or takeover).

My gut tells me that #2 is the more likely.

Signs to look for:

If POS/POG retrace followed by MFL retracing, then #1 is most likely.

If POS/POG remain stagnant or retrace and MFL continues to advance, then #2 is most likely.
