"Another thing I'm curious about is, what would victory look like in bin Laden's mind?" I believe his immediate goal is religious war (Jihad) between Christianity and Islam. I belive he holds the mistaken belief that Western civilization would be defeated because Westerners are not willing to die for principles. One would think he should know better by looking at our Revolutionary War, the allies in WW's I & II, and even the passengers aboard Flight 93. This is not Vietnam...which may be his model. I'm quite sure his ultimate goal is a world of Islam only.
