Ahhh, but you see I am not a native American. I have lived in America for less than 3 years. And yet, living in all parts of the world at different times in my life, I never thought Americans were violent crusaders. But I did hear about the Moslems creating trouble everywhere in the world.
I did think that the cultural aspect of American society was inevitably making its mark on the Asian and Mid Eastern Society,it was creating resentment amongst Asian parents and promoting permissiveness in the youth, but then, thats not something to get violent about. Its a different way of life...and parents, societies can choose to ignore it. I do.
Besides, I think the Arabs are hypocritical about it. They enjoy the Western Culture per se, more than Asians do, much more. They just like to say they don't. Trust me on that one ! I would have these Moslem friends who would tell the world they were fasting during Ramadan, but they really were not. They just didn't have the guts to admit they didn't fast. I had friends who would eat pork and enjoy it, they would just pretend they were devout Moslems. I found it strange. The biggest gambler of all is King of Saudi Arabia. The largest investors in the stock market are Arab rulers. Yet, by religion gambling and investing for profits is forbidden under their religion. The poor people, well they cannot even get fixed income CDs on their deposits as Islamic banks do not provide interests. What kind of hypocracy and double standards are these ?
