Saying it is desperation, and applauding Baywatch is not what I would do.
However, I do wish to point out that a lot of what you have said is true.
I once happened to be invited for a birthday party for my Jordanian neighbors kid, a very devout Moslem family. My daughter would often play with their kids so they invited me over as well. I decided to go late, as I really thought I had nothing in common with those burqua clad females who would incessantly talk religion...or so I thought.
Anyway, dressed in my MOST conservative apparel, covered from head to toe, I went in pretty late. Imagine my surprise when I saw scatily clad women, drinking, dancing in a raunchy manner. I was SHOCKED. It was much worse than Baywatch. And when the time came for them to leave, they all put on their Burqua's and departed, very honorably.
I was later told by my neighbor that most parties followed the pattern. The women have to have some fun too, after all...
Now, judging them and calling their behaviour inappropriate is not something I would do. But at the same time, calling them devout Moslems who adhere to the teachings in Islam, well thats not something I think they do either.... |
