The upshot is that Bollinger thinks we are now in a 16 year or so sideways trading pattern. Personally, I think we're headed lower in the short term, but otherwise I think John's about got it right.

This implies swing trading will be the best game in town. The virtual trading skills we develop here should stand us in good stead. John says there are very few promising sectors right now. I'm going to take a look at some issues in the gold and oil and gas sectors for real swing trades.

One thing is certain, though. Tech is probably a dead sector and I've got to stop following it so closely. Chip plants in the new millenium will probably go through what gold has gone through since 1980 (too much expansion after a bull, not enough demand).
