The US is repeating the same mistake that got us in hot water. Our foreign policy. To accomplish our goal we will ally our self with the devil. During the cold war our friends were dictators who cared least for their citizens (Shah or Iran, Ferdinand Marcos, Saddam Hussain, Noreiga (sp?), Samosa, and many of the kings and Emirs.

Now in a rush to find a solution to the Sept 11 disaster, we are finding all despot leaders and dictators as friends. Pakistan which is breeding ground for terrorist and a military dictator, Uzbek leader, Iran, Syria and even countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt where the masses do not support the government. Countries like Israel and India (which are democratic) are put on the back burner. This explains the outburst on the part of Israelies.

We like problems to be simple and explainable in few words. For example, cold war/communism and we justified all atrocities in the name of fighting communism.

Suddenly, we discovered terrorism as if it never existed. Every few years we find a bad guy beat him up and go back to sleep.

Remember Ayatollah, Gaddaffy, Noreiga, Saddam, Bin Laden ....

What we need is an activist foreign policy where we do not react to events as they come by. In a world of global economy we need a proactive and engaging forein policy.

oops? I have to run. I will finish this thought in the evening.
