Rydex Total Assets Update for Friday, October 5th, 2001:

Regular Series:

SPX Long - NOVA 243.9 Million**BULLISH
SPX Short- URSA 261.3 Million**BULLISH
NDX Long - OTC 782.8 Million**BULLISH
NDX Short- Arktos 89.2 Million**BULLISH

XAU Precious Metals 87.2 Million**BEARISH
Banking 34.4 Million**BULLISH
Biotech 270.7 Million**BULLISH
Money Market 1.439 BILLION**BULLISH Oversold

*******************************************

Dynamic Series (200% correlation to Index)

SPX Long - TITAN 113.8 Million
SPX Short- TEMPEST 120.2 Million**BULLISH

NDX Long - VELOCITY 138.7 Million
NDX Short- VENTURE 100.9 Million**BULLISH

*********************************************

**Money Market levels have been above oversold levels for 1 month.
**XAU Precious Metals TA even though sentiment is Bearish, technicals are Bullish as it just won't die and every pullback is followed by a snapback.
**I was quite impressed with the market rally from red to black into the bell. Bears afraid to be short into the weekend for fear of U.S. attack on rogue terrorists as it would imply market melt-up and short covering.
**MSFT & DELL double overbought and CSCO in overbought territory the NDX 100 heavies.
**Cycle Low due Tuesday October 9 +/- 1 day. Will look to close out NDX Arktos into the first hard weak day.

Regular Series: 100% Short NDX Arktos
Dynamic Series: 100% Long SPX TITAN

Best Regards, J.T.
