Air travel security certainly seems 10 fold tighter than the last time I travelled. I flew this week from EWR and saw plenty of security personnel. Whether the additional private security firm people or the national guard personnel are very competent I dont know. Also you have the same people at the checkpoints doing a better job, but how effective the process is still remains to be seen.

I suspect three or four Middle Eastern looking people could still get on a plane with ceramic knives, the only thing that would catch them would be a complete body/baggage search initiated as a result of racial profiling and/or "suspicious" behavior.

With everyone at the airports I hope someone is watching the other potential targets.
