Bush Adviser: Growth Above 3 Pct in '02
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey on Sunday expressed optimism the U.S. economy will return to robust economic growth in 2002, despite the attacks on U.S. financial and military landmarks on Sept. 11.

``I think next year's going to be seeing a return to normal growth, three-plus percent,'' Lindsey said in a televised interview on Fox News Sunday.

Lindsey also rejected the idea that long and deep economic recession was the likely result of the attacks that leveled the World Trade Center and a part of the Pentagon (news - web sites).

``I don't think that is in the cards at all. I think the fundamentals of the U.S. economy are there,'' Lindsey said.
