You have more technical knowledge than I do so your explanation makes
sense although it's beyond my knowledge of how the cpu and peripherals
work together. The article that I mentioned on the Intel cpu that's
supposed to be undergoing testing said that Intel has come up with
some way to make the peripherals work along with the cpu in a more
effective manner than having the cpu/motherboard/peripheral set-up
that is currently in use. As far as the pins go, I think the set-up
is all one unit: cpu/video/audio all in one. I don't remember where
I saw that article but if I come across any more information on it
I'll post it here. Meanwhile, since you seem to have a better understanding of this stuff, maybe you can find something on it and
give us a better interpretation. Also, what's your latest feelings
on AMD for the long-term: do you still think that the fate of AMD
hinges primarily on the cpu's or do you think the new fab in Germany
along with the diversity of their products will be sufficient to keep
this company competitive? I don't think Charles' trend-
lines sounds too good, not so much for the short-term downtrend, but
more because today he mentions that the long-term is also looking downward.
