My view is that there was nothing lovable in us. John 3:16 says more about God's character than our "lovableness". For God so loved the world, not For the world was so lovable. Who in the heck would want to love a creature that constantly thumbs his nose at the creator and says f/u? Only someone able to rise above what his creatures would never do. HT
