No significant damage from attacks: Taleban

The United States-led attacks on Taleban targets in Afghanistan on Sunday night caused no significant damage, a spokesman for the Islamic militia told the Afghan Islamic Press agency.

In Washington, the Pentagon received no immediate reports any of its planes has been struck during the strikes, said US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

"We have no information that any American aircraft has been damaged or brought down," he said.

Meanwhile, Taleban Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Salam Zaeef said Osama bin Laden and Taleban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar survived the US and British attacks.

"By the grace of God, Mullah Omar and bin Laden are alive," Zaeef told reporters.

He did not elaborate and did not say whether either leader was.
