Intercell Technologies Corporation Subsidiary Intercell Wireless Corporation (IWC) Completes Final Testing of Far & Safe(TM) Antenna
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Intercell Technologies Corporation (ITCO) reports that its subsidiary, Intercell Wireless Corporation (IWC) has completed final testing on its patent-pending Far & Safe(TM) antenna for cellular phones.
Dick Gibson, President of IWC, announced today that final testing on the proposed production version of the Far&Safe antenna was completed by the Telecommunications Research Lab at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.
Production of the Far&Safe antennas will begin at the M.C. Davis Company (An Intercell Technologies Corporation company) plant in Magdalenia, Mexico by the end of July 1997.
Preproduction models of the Far&Safe antenna will also be furnished to the IWC sales team who are preparing marketing to launch North American and Latin American sales efforts in mid-July 1997. The Far&Safe antenna will make its North American and Latin American debut at the Communications & Electronics Expo/Show of the America in Miami, FL from July 8-11, 1997.
Production models of the Far&Safe antenna will be shipped to Australia, where a major cellular retailer, Strathfield Car Radios, is introducing the product into their 50 retail outlets throughout Australia in August 1997. This targeted market sampling will give IWC valuable insight into customer acceptance of its product.
The production version of the Far&Safe antenna will be sold as a replacement antenna for popular models of cellular telephone handsets from Motorola, Nokia, Radioshack, Ericsson, and other OEMs.
The Far&Safe replacement antenna kit is user-installable and will be initially available in two versions:
800-900 MHz for AMPS analog cellular systems, primarily in North and South America. 890-960 MHz for GSM digital cellular systems, primarily in Europe, Asia and Australia.
The company announced in its news release of June 11, 1997 that it would issue one share of Intercell Technologies Corporation stock for every five (5) shares of Intercell Corporation stock owned by Intercell Corporation shareholders. Intercell Technologies Corporation will now add to this offering, an additional one half warrant to each new ITCO share issued to shareholders of Intercell Corporation at an exercise price of $4.00 per share. All stock and warrants will be issued to shareholders of record in Intercell Corporation as of June 30, 1997. The stock and warrants are to be registered for distribution to the shareholders by no later than June 30, 1998.
