Thread, Hi, just got back from a trip to Europe. Total time to clear security at the Detroit airport was less than 35 minutes; including getting checked in with the carrier. Total time to get on a plane in Europe was over 1.5 hours. And I had to do it again when I switched planes (total time with transfer of 3.5 hours). I had to take off my shoes and have them scanned. They are SERIOUS about preventing it in Europe. Five separate inspections for two flights. I am not too sure about the quality of inspection at the Detroit airport. One flight was stopped on the runway and the police boarded it and made an inspection. My return flight was also called back to the gate because someone checked a bag and missed the flight. Talked to at least a dozen people in Europe who are delaying their plans to vacation in the States. Take Care TH
