After all, Israel could derail this entire coalition, and make the US position FAR MORE perilous.

I don't understand what benefit we derive from this coalition, aside from some PR figleaf. If we did this with NATO and assistance from Uzbekistan and Pakistan, how would it be different? The rest of the coalition is worse than useless, demanding crippling prices for their (non)help.
