>flawed translations have done a great harm to Islam

Sir you have no credibility here. If all of the Koran's "Stanic Versus," as Salmon Rushdi came to paraphrase, are simple errors in translations and are best to be read and understood in Arabic, then how come the Moslems who speak Arabic are the most backward in treating their women, in their laws and in their governments. Perhaps you should go there and enlighten them with the true Arabic that you have mastered. Based on my understanding of the Arabic language, the translations are certainly watered down to fool the Berkley liberal types. The Arabic language is much harsher. The english language's vocabulary is by far the largest of all languages and you claim that you still can not a word that translate a simple word in Koran!? The answer is you were looking for the most watered down word and you could not find it, perhaps it is your knowledge of english language that is deficient and not the english language. You can not fool anyone.
