i have sensed the same thing in bonds, and remember, i'm a dodger fan. it's almost like he came back down to earth (humility-wise) to join the rest of us. and as the home run race progressed, he seemed to grow more relaxed, which is the opposite of what one might expect from a player in that position.

he seemed less self-absorbed, more grateful to be a member of a team rather than the big star. to tell you the truth, it probably all came down to the fact that bonds was feeling appreciated for the first time, and that's all he needed to stop acting like a prima donna.

that's my opinion anyway. and he could revert to the old bonds first thing next year.
