>>Mills solid in debut

Redshirt freshman Zack Mills was the first freshman quarterback to start a game since Wally Richardson in 1992.

Mills was 21 for 38 for 244 yards and demonstrated a poise in running the offense, despite little or no running game to fall back on.

"I thought the kid played an outstanding football game for a kid making his first start," Paterno said. "We have not had a lot of kids play at that age. I think the last guy who played maybe as a freshman was Tony Sacca. And this kid would have more poise than Tony did. He's got a lot of ability. He's got a quick release, a lot of courage. He's physical, very smart, and he'll get better."<<

I agree. BTW, McHugh broke his leg.
