pam - and furthermore (to answer some more of your question) -- Yes, I have made major investment mistakes BIG time.

For example -- I own a lot of Globalstar bonds (and, I already booked a large loss on Globalstar common stock, before I swapped it into Globalstar bonds).

But -- I also will hold the G* debt to the "bitter end."

Most people appear to be "bailing" on their G* debt (at the current (roughly) 2 or 3 cents on the dollar level).

That does not make much sense to me, unless you are "up against the wall."

Once again -- I am willing to look at the G* situation on a medium run to long run basis.
