Osama's loyal sons to get disinheritance

Updated on 2001-10-08 16:26:27

JEDDAH, October 08 (PNS): Even as the US and its allies gear up to attack Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda terrorist network, the Saudi dissident's family is preparing to disinherit any of his children who remain loyal to him in Afghanistan, media reports said on Sunday.

Bin Laden has been living in Afghanistan since 1996 with 10 of his children, including ten-year old son, Ali. However, five of his children, including his eldest son Abdullah, 22, live a life of luxury in Saudi Arabia, where they are looked after by their mother.

The report estimated the value of Osama's shares in the family construction firm at between 60 million dollars and 300 million dollars - a potential inheritance of up to 60 million dollars for each of the five children.

The assets have been frozen since 1994. The split in Osama's family followed a decision by his first wife to leave him, while he was in Sudan, and return to Saudi Arabia with their five children, the report said. End.
