Canadian National Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad plan to launch an intermodal service to move freight from Central Canada through Michigan and Texas to Mexico City. The service, which aims to be competitive with truck transport, is scheduled to begin Oct. 8. The companies said this is the first in a series of joint initiatives to improve transit times and rail service, expedite border crossings and provide truck-competitive service.
