During much of the intervening period, MSFT was a worse investment than SUNW, and it didn't give you the opportunity to sell at anywhere near what you could have done with SUNW.

I don't think many savings accounts would double in 4-5 years.

My basis is irrelevant. As I've told you before, I've taken more out than I ever put in.

Edit: BTW, what's your basis in MSFT?
