<<The US was plenty aware of bin Laden previously>>

Yet, we FAILED to take his threats seriously...IMO, years ago we should have hired professional mercenaries to take out Bin Laden and all his key lieutenants....We should have destroyed the training camps BEFORE he had a chance to funnel thousands of fanatics through them...Our CIA needed the power to be pre-emptive and eliminate or reduce serious threats. The FBI's $5 Million price tag on Bin Laden's head is a joke. His terrorists just inflicted north of $ 50 Billion in damages on the U.S. earlier this month (and that doesn't account for the new level of fear in the country may negatively impact the economy for quite some time).

We should have been willing to be MORE RUTHLESS and commited to eliminating the Bin Ladens of the world...We also needed to use all of our capabilities to de-legitimize terrorism. Now we have waited for a tragic and costly wake-up call and the stakes are MUCH HIGHER. Lets hope we have learned from the past.

Regards,

Scott
