kb, I regret to detect your glee at the prospect of a T.I.C. I lived in East Germany as a youth. As an American citizen I visited while it was still communist. Had to register at the police station on arrival and again on departure. East Germans changing residence had to do the same. Each apartment building had a resident who monitored overnight visitors. They had to sign in to a 'guest book'. Gottfried :(
