Do you think about
poisoned streams when you buy a gold band for your wife or girlfriend? I don't
think so.

You're absolutely right.

When I buy my wife a mocha at Starbucks (I can't drink their stuff, but she loves it as a treat when we go to America) I don't give a thought for the workers who pick the beans, or roast the beans, or for the runoff from the soil when it got slashed-and-burned to make way for planting more coffee trees, or whatever.

I drive my F-150 without a single thought about the condition of the workers who drilled for the oil, or for the pollution in the oceans from leaking wells.

Sometimes I think about those things when I come across the problem in person or through a news account. But not when I use or buy the products.

You've got me pegged, I'm afraid.
