Milo, weren't you one of the people that claimed that the 1.4GHz Athlon is equal to the 2.0GHz Pentium 4, and the Palomino core would bring even more of a lead? Sorry if it wasn't you, but I have heard it a lot on this thread. As usual, performance claims get widely exaggerated from reality.

At least this review gives credibility to the claim that the Athlon XP 1800+ performs closely to the 2.0GHz Pentium 4 in a wide range of legacy and optimized apps. Whether you take that as good news or disappointing news is up to you.
