Since there is nothing going on tonight on AthlonXP front, I found this story notable:

Tajikistan Opens Airspace to U.S.

DUSHANBE, 12:02 p.m. EDT— Tajikistan said on Monday it was prepared to allow U.S. forces to use its air bases for military actions in Afghanistan, some 24 hours after their first strikes in the country.

"The Republic of Tajikistan has declared its readiness to open its airspace to the U.S. airforce and, should it prove necessary, its airports for carrying out measures against terrorism," a government statement said.

This was the first such declaration by the central Asian republic, which has a 815-mile border with Afghanistan. Tajikistan had previously said only that it was ready to help the fight against "terrorism," without any specific measures.

I think this is extremely important it the conflict enters a second stage of ground war (by US and Northern alliance forces). This will allow US to fly tactical aircraft from much shorter distances, without the need to completely rely on Pakistan. It will also allow to fly AWACS planes to watch over the whole Afganistan, it will allow some fighters to be patrolling the air space of Afganistan, ready to shoot down any aircraft (with fleeing "target")
