lol Sprint -- one could easily argue that Microsoft's monopolistic practices cost billions of dollars -- simply on the "stifling competition" argument alone.

In most traditional monopoly situations, the consumer suffers (because the monopoly controls prices) and innovation suffers (no new and better products are brought to market).

This has not been the case in Microsoft's monopoly, but that wasn't obvious in the 1990 - 1996 time period. IMO, there's still no excuse for a monopoly to abuse their position as a monopoly.

But I gotta admit, the comparison you posted really makes ya think about priorities, doesn't it ? If you're suggesting that the government spend more on intelligence and defense , wellllllll you'll get no complaints from me !! lolololol
