In any event equating the Nuclear attack on Japan with an act of terrorism is pure nonsense. It may have been a questionable military decision (especially the second bomb). Quite possibly we could have defeated Japan without it. Whether the total toll on life would have been less or greater is pure speculation. Certainly many more U.S lives would have been sacrificed. (It is not inconceivable that Japan could have delayed enough to develop it's own bomb and there is no doubt that that they would not have hesitated to use it against us and possibly achieved victory).
