Yes we have no bananas or EDGE handsets.

How the evolution goes is (yet again, I should have some sort of hotkey combination which would pull this up as needed - which is frankly speaking pretty often): GSM-GPRS-EDGE-WCDMA. And unlike widely believed on this thread, the steps are not supposed to happen simultaneously.

So where are we on the development chain? ERICY, NOK and SI have just launched their first GPRS models. From the user´s point of view the whole thing barely exists.

Based on the constant observation (and occasional penetration) of the huddled masses in the old continent, my prediction for a very rapid development is:

GPRS adaptation –02
GPRS mass usage –03
EDGE mass usage –04
WCDMA mass usage –05

And this is the very quickest scenario indeed. You might have to throw in a few more years. Let´s remember there are no packet data killer apps developed yet.
