JPR - i think you missed the whole point which is that once you start giving up your rights, there are extremists (call them terrorists) who will take advnatage of the times and feelings and take more of your rights away. It is exactly this kind of alienation that leads people to become terrorists in order to deal with the terrorist law keepers.

When you go to some Islamic nations, you surrender all your rights.

And many other non-islamic countries as well. Thats why people prefer to come here, If they were treated as in the islamic countries u mention, what would the difference be?

btw did you follow the arrests and handcuffing of several indian software professionals who were working in texas? That kind of treatment is unfit in a democratic nation and downright shameful.
