48 hours prior to the assault, Bush called up Vajpayee to inform him about the impending attack, and gave him his 'word' that the Jaish would be placed on the terrorist organisation list. After Musharref's (and I am tempted to put in an adjective here, but I won't) press conference, he called up Vajpayee and asked him for regional co-operation. Vajpayee, blunt as he always is, told him to go rid his house of terrorist camps before engaging in sweet talks. Red faced Musharref is roumored to have muttered "We're looking into it" before Vajpayee disconnected the phone ! The point I'm trying to make is that they're looking into it !
